Music and the Performing Arts at Forest Hills

Music

At FHLS students have an array of opportunities to hone their musical skills. Beginning with Kindergarten through the fifth grade, students participate in music classes introducing to them the basic elements of music through singing a variety of choral pieces. As students work on these songs they learn more about musical terms such as melody, rhythm, tempo and numerous other musical elements. Students learn stage presence while sharing their music for the Christmas Service, Spring Event, LEST and weekly chapel services.

By fourth grade students may also participate in the school band and /or hand bells choir. By middle school students have a variety of electives to choose from, focusing in on music, drama and language experiences.

Performing Arts

Forest Hills students have a variety of opportunities to share performance skills. The school produces an annual Christmas program. Students participate in the National Lutheran Schools Week Talent Show. Spring programs include a school musical and a special program for music ensembles.
