One Program - Several Levels

The Forest Hills program extends from Preschool for 4-year olds through 8th grade on the Main Campus. Classes meet in several different buildings on the campus. In addition, Forest Hills operates a satellite kindergarten program at the Aloha campus. This page gives a snapshot view of the various levels and locations of the program.

Main BuildingThe Preschool program meets in the Main Building on the Forest Hills campus.

In the 2016-17 school year, Forest Hills offers a 4-year old preschool class which meets 5 mornings (M-F) each week.

Main BuildingPrimary BldgForest Hills offers a single grade per classroom program for each of grades K-2. All are full day programs and class sizes are nortmally limited to 18 students. In addition, the school offers a Multiage K-2 classroom with a mixed ratio of students. Enrollment in this class is subject to interviews with the teacher and normally is open only to new kindergarten students. Grades K-2 classes meet in the Primary Building, which also houses the Art Space and the Before & After School area.

Forest Hills offers two multiage classrooms for the primary (K-2) and intermediate (3-5) grades. The brochure outlines the distinctiveness of this program.

Intermediate buildingForest Hills offers a single grade per classroom program for each of grades 3-5 and a multiage class for grades 3-5. All are full day programs and class sizes are normally limited to 24 students per classroom. Classes meet in the Intermediate Building. Middle SchoolMiddle School classes are departmentalized with several different teachers and multiple classrooms on the campus. Students move from class to class. Teachers are specialists in the various areas of the curriculum. Middle school students use Chromebooks extensively in the course of the day, carrying this tool with them. It is an essential tool for writing, calculating and keeping track of assignments.Classes are normally limited to 24 students per grade.
