The activities and focus for PE are grouped by grade
The focus for kindergarten through second grade is movement awareness. Children participate in various activities to explore how they can make their bodies move to perform various manipulative skills. Low organized games and activities also focus on cooperation.
The focus for third through fifth grade is on basic skill development. Students are introduced to various sport activities and are instructed on proper technique for each activity. Life long physical activities are highlighted. Organized games with simple rules supplement the learning environment and also teach children team work and cooperation.
The focus for sixth through eighth is on organized and group activities. Common and unique activities are covered in individual and team play. Collaborative and inter-grade teams assist students in understanding the importance of cooperation and its importance as a life long skill.
