Each year, Forest Hills students from K-8 study art masters and their work.  They learn history, technique and see examples before applying what they have studied to a work of their own.

Kandinsky and Frank Lloyd Wright are the two artists studied in the current school year.

Art Smart: Kandinsky

According to Wikipedia:

"Wassily Kandinsky (Russian: Василий Кандинский, first name pronounced as [vassi:li]) (December 16 [O.S. December 4] 1866 – December 13, 1944) was a Russian painter, printmaker and art theorist. One of the most famous 20th-century artists, he is credited with painting the first modern abstract works."  more . . .

Forest Hills students saw examples of his work and then copied his abstract style in work of their own.  Look at the samples below and then decide which work was done by whom:  master or student?
